Posting Guidlines
Preparation
- Assemble your text and image files beforehand on your computer
- Yes, an image is mandatory. The more the better!
- Images should be landscape if possible. Portrait doesn't work very well
- Images should be at least 500px wide. Ideally 1200-1500px
- Cut/scale down images greater than 2000px with your favourite image editor
- Break up text into manageable paragraphs. Big blocks don't work well
- Think of a short but informative title for your post <10 words
- Create a one paragraph summary your post
- Take a look at similar posts on the website and note the categories
- These are shown at the bottom of the post e.g. News or Rides
- Login to your account
Posting
No matter how many times you have posted it is still a good idea to follow the guidelines so nothing is forgotten.
- Insert Title. This is used as the post address
- In the RH sidebar at the top insert your featured image
- Upload or select from the media library
- Add excerpt under the now shown image
- Lower down on the RH sidebar select one or two relevant categories
- It's good practice to also put your featured image from the media library as the first image in your post
- Add text and other images
NEVER PUBLISH until you have checked and viewed what it looks like. The View icon is three from the right from the PUBLISH/SAVE button.
- Spending time on View - Edit _view will make it look better
- Don't be afraid to save it as a draft. We can help you improve it more
- Sure? Then hit 'Publish' twice and it should be live unless you set it to post at a later date
- Email the webmaster so they can check all is OK
Thank you.
